The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly (ANNDA), Hon. Mba Zechariah Alenbilla on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 cut sod for the commencement of the 24 hour economy market in Asoufua earmarked for completion in 36 months.

In attendance were the DCE, Hon. Mba Zechariah Alenbilla, District Coordinating Director, Mr Akowuah Antwi, staffs, Information Services Department, Chiefs, queenmothers, and elders of Asoufua, religious heads of various organisations, market traders in Asoufua, Assembly members, Unit committee members of Asougua, media, security, the consultant and contractor; and NDC party followers and all and sundry honoured and graced the grand sod-cut.
In his speech, the Asoufua-Adiembra Dikro and Chiarman for the event, Nana Afrane Boateng was grateful to the organisers for the chairman position but entreated all present to rally behind him in the process.

He called for unity among Nananom and the people of Asoufua citing the project as one that has come for all and none other.
Adiembra Dikro commended the government, DCE and every Individual for citing Asoufua for the 24hour economy market and prayed it will be considered and acknowledged.
Taking the stand to enlightened all present, the Eco Planners Engineering Consult as consultant to the contractor, Darlingterk Company Ltd, Engineer Daniel Yeboah threw light on the project and later handed the projects documents to the DCR who afterwards handed it to the contractor.
The contractor was urged to treat the project with all utmost urgency and professionalism.
Hon. Mba Zechariah Alenbilla, the DCE having the opportunity to address the audience, said the implemented flagship project is marked for 36 months in completion but the contractor has assured them of completion working hard to meet target months or less.

He assured all present of the Assembly’s readiness to monitor and direct where necessary for the completion of the project, leaving no stone unturned.
DCE entreated the market traders and audiences present of a relocation policy and registration of names instituted to mitigate challenges set to come over such project on existing ones.
Mr. Zechariah showed praises on the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Nananom, and all stakeholders for the realised promise.
Nana Banie Ahenkan II, Asoufua Obaapanin said Nananom are ever ready to monitor to see the project completed. She however, urged the contractor to speed and work towards set agenda.
Obaapanin assured traders of a smooth process of relocation and registration of names as well as entitlement of a shop or shed.

She was optimistic that the project will boost the local economy of the District and as much expa d businesses in the locality.
Traders who shared the sentiment commended the President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, Ashabti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, DCR, Nananom, Assembly man, Hon. Osei Kwaku Michael and all for they hoped for a state-of-the-art market and now they have had one commenced for construction.
They prayed they will be prioritized after completion before others.
