Northern Smock “Fugu” is one among the top wearing apparel of the Northern people in the Region of Ghana.

Upon enquiry it was revealed that these teen girls had had education. There were those who  were in education and uses their leisure days and hours of vacation to learn this trade whilst others have completed school preparing to further on but wants to make good use of the days ahead in life.

DCE JOINS REV. OB TO BREAK GROUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF 3 UNIT CLASSROOM AT AKRAFO KOKOBEN

The District Chief Executive of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah has joined the founder and leader of Moment of Glory Prayer Army (MOGPA), Rev. Isaac Osei Bonsu (Rev. OB) to cut sod for the construction of a 3 unit classroom, a staff common room, a headmaster’s office, washroom and a mechanised borehole for the pupil of Akrafo Kokoben D/A primary in the District Assembly.
The said educational infrastructure which commenced on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 is set for 14 months completion or more.
Dignitaries who honoured the ground breaking were Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, DCE, Hon. Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, Presiding Member and Dean of Ashanti Regional Presiding Members, Nananom, District Education Director, Mr Frank Duah Boateng, District Coordinating Director, Mr S.M Abdul-Rahman, MOGPA representatives and Pastors, Assembly member for the area, teachers, staff of the educational Directorate, students and all protocols observed.
In her speech, the Hon. DCE was thankful to the developer (Rev. OB) and urged all private religious bodies to make example out of what MOGPA founder has done.
She held that when private institution are able to take up such mantles of development no one would be left behind leading to a country transformed.
Pastor James Adusie Mensah, who spoke on the half of Rev. OB said the future cannot be certain without education and since it falled on infrastructure, MOGPA as an entity would want to be part of it.

DCE ASKED FOR UNITY TO UPRAISE THE DISTRICT – ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY (ANNDA)

The District Chief Executive of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly has asked staff and Assembly members to collaborate to achieve development and better hoist the district to municipality.
She made this during the electoral process of the District Assembly’s Presiding Member on the 3rd of March, 2022 at the District Conference Hall.
Hon. DCE urged both staff and Assembly members to work hand-in-hand on issues pertained to development of the District not leaving out communities’ hailed from.
The President’s Representative added that the District’s uplift to Municipality could only be realized when the collaborative bond among members have become strong.

ZOOMLION FUMIGATES ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT TO RID OF BUGS, VIRUSES AND OTHER INFECTIOUS AGENTS.

As part of Government’s initiative to obviate bugs, viruses and related infectious agents in the country has contracted the Zoomlion Ghana Limited to make out a fumigation exercise every quarterly in a year across board.

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District had its quarterly fumigation exercise on the 5th of February, 2022, in areas such as Fufuo, Adankwame, Maaban, Asuofua-Asamang, Amakye-Bare, Akropong, Dabaa, and all nooks and crannies of the district.

Spraying was carried out by the National Malaria Control Program (NAMCOP) Spraying Gangs.

The spraying was done in various market centers, public toilets, public urinals, solid waste dumping sites, public schools, and other related places for public use.

The communities visited expressed words of gratitude to the District for such a great implemented initiative and hope it continues till later.

DISTRICT PLANNING COORDINATING UNIT OF ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT MET TO FURNISH FOR THE YEAR AHEAD. 

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District’ Planning Coordinating Unit has engaged heads of departments and units in furnishing the Assembly with plans for the 2022 ensuing year.
The committee which was chaired by the District Coordinating Director Mr S.M Abdul-Rahman comprised of the various heads departments and units.
The participated members contributed their quota to the agenda enshrined for discussion.
Mr Abdul-Rahman asked members to extend the invitation of the meeting to other non-governmental bodies and governmental agencies to contribute for their quota counts.
He asked members to make the development of the district a daily manner and on top of issues.

2022 Regional Composite Budget hearing was hosted in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

The hearing session was made on the 14th of October, 2021 at the Assembly’s Conference Hall.

Such a great event brought together Officials from the Regional Coordinating Council, Officials from the Accra Ministry of Finance, MMDCES, Coordinating Directors, and everyone who has a role to play in the event.

The grouping of the whole program brought together Three MMDCEs namely; Offinso North District Assembly, Offinso Municipal, and Atwima Nwabiagya North District (the host nation) to present their budget before the house for finality.

The performance of the participants were exceptionally appreciated.

The teams marveled at the officials present and acknowledged whatever suggestions were made for the success of the budget hearing.

OVER 50,000 BIRDS KILLED IN ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT DUE TO BIRD FLU

The Atwima Nwabiagya North District has recorded over 50,000 birds deceased as a results of the avian influenza, commonly known as bird flu.

The communities include; Adankwame, Essaso, Akropong, and Marban respectively.
the outbreak which begun early this month has seen more birds killed.

The farming operators are; Kwame Adusie Ventures Farm, Darko Farms (i.e. Essaso & Akropong), Marban Annex Farm, and Adankwame Farm.

The highest among the farmers is Kwame Adusie Ventures Farm in Marban with over 34,400 birds, eggs, and feed destroyed.

The Regional Veterinary Officer, Dr Marlon Mensah, Regional Laboratory Officer, Dr Amponsah Patrick, Senior Regulatory Officer of FDA – Regional, District Veterinary Officer, Miss Donkor Akosua Apofowaa, District Director of Agric, District Director of NADMO, and the District Information Officer, made sure the farm is deserted of any affected poultry bird.

The public is hereby entreated to be critical in the purchase of poultry either from farms or cold stores as the outbreak of bird flu is gradually reaching its peak in the district.

The Assembly members for the Atwima Nwabiagya North District has unanimously endorsed the President’s nominee Hon. Rebecca Yeboah as District Chief Executive for administrative years ahead of the Assembly.

The event which was gracefully honoured with colourful white apparel took place on the 24th of September, 2021 at the Assembly’s Conference Hall.

In attendance were the DCE herself, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, Representative of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Kwabena Senkyere who is the Regional NADMO Director, Council of State Member- Ashanti, Her Excellency Georgina Kusi Adepah, Presiding Member for the quorum, Hon. Isaac Ohemeng Prempeh, District Coordinating Director, Mr S.M Abdul Rahman, Nananom, Assembly members, NPP Constituency Chairman, Nana Kwaa Dwomuo, The Divisional Command of Police and his men, staff of Atwima Nwabiagya North District, and all who matters made the occasion a memorable one.

In the electoral procedure the total number to vote was 23 and 2/3 of the quorum is needed.

Without errors all the 23 members present voted YES for her which is 100% to continue her post and after the election.

DCE Hon Rebecca Yeboah expressed gratitude to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo Dankwah, President of the Republic for the trust reposed in her to continue the good work, Hon Benito Owusu Bio ( Dep Min of lands & MP for Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency), Her Excellency Georgina Kusi Adepah( Council of State Member- Ashanti) and entire Assembly Members for the support given.

She promised nothing but to be her best of ensuring more development in the district with everyone involved.

LAND FOR AGENDA 111 HANDED OVER TO CONTRACTORS FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF WORK.

Guest at present includes; the District Chief Executive, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, MP for Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio, Chief of Barekese, Assembly members, NPP party faithfuls, Information Officer, and other stakeholders graced the occasion.

In handing over the land the Barekesehene, Nana Amoapem Brenya I, expressed how honoured and overwhelmed he is to see his community benefit from the government’s flagship programme dubbed “Agenda 111”.He prayed for a successful completion as well as commissioning of the project. MP for Atwima Nwabiagya North District, who doubles as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Benito Owusu-Bio charged contractors to accept errors when drawn to and patiently makes amends.

He further tasked them to give more opportunities to the local, such as the carpenters, steel benders, plumbers, mason, labourers and others as required.

The Agenda is an 18 months completion and contractors are charged to meet that target with favourable weather.

PRESIDENT RENOMINATES HON. REBECCA YEBOAH AS DCE FOR ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT (ANNDA)

His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana has renominated Hon. Rebecca Yeboah (affectionately called Amansanboafour) as the District Chief Executive for the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

This came when the Minister for Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development on behalf of the President made pronouncement of the list of MMDCEs in the country on the 19th of September, 2021, during the Ministry of Information’s Press Briefing in Accra.

According to the Local Government Act 2016 (Act 936) Section 20. clause (1) “There shall be a District Chief Executive for each district
appointed by the President with the prior approval of not less than
two-thirds majority of the members of the District Assembly present and
voting at the meeting”,
