RIGHT TO INFORMATION COMMISSION OF ASHANTI REGIONAL BRANCH PAYS A WORKING VISIT TO ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On Tuesday 26th November, 2024 there were officers from the Right to Information Commission of Ashanti Regional branch stationed in Kumasi paying a visit to the Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

 

The main objective of the visit was to monitor and evaluate the operations of the Right to information officer in the institution as well as how information on RTI law is handled in the institution generally.

DIALOGUE HELD IN ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH

On the 19th day of November 2024, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Municipal held a dialogue with Parliament candidates of the various political parties, observers, and concerned voters (residents) in the Atwima Nwabiagya North Municipal.

The meeting was held at the conference hall of the municipality.
Mr. Emmanuel Appiah, the Municipal Director for NCCE, educated the various parliamentary candidates, observers, and residents on the 2024 election protocols and concerns and how important it is for voters to exercise their franchise. He advised the political parties and representatives to ensure that their members make the election peaceful.


Mr. Appiah urged voters to go all out and vote for their favorite candidate since that is their utmost right in the constitution.
Representing the parliamentary candidates were the New Patriotic Party, Independent Candidate, and the New Force.
Frank Yeboah, the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party in the constituency, had the opportunity to roll out his policies and his intentions to the good people in the constituency when voted into power. He talked about education, security, health, the economy, and other policies in the constituency and promised to work when voted into power. He rolled out many other policies that he has for the people in the constituency.


So was the opportunity given to other parliamentary candidates to put before the gatherers their policies as well as seek their vote in the upcoming general election.


A good number of the residents in the constituency or municipality who were invited to the seminar were also given the chance to speak out and put out their concerns plus other unknown issues to the parliamentary candidates present.
They were assured of getting their concerns addressed when they voted for any one of them to power.

Atwima Nwabiagya North Municipal Assembly participated in the nationwide Farmers’ Day celebration.

On Friday, November 8, 2024.
In attendance at the event included several notable individuals and groups: the Municipal Chief Executive of Atwima Nwabiagya North Municipal Assembly and Parliamentary Candidate for the Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency, Hon. Frank Yeboah; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. S.M. Abdul-Rahman; the Director of Agriculture, Ms. Grace Achiaa, along with their dedicated staff. Other attendees comprised the heads of various departments and units, representatives from the Ghana Education Directorate, past award winners, traditional leaders, including Nananom and Queen Mothers, Assembly Members, Unit Committee Members, and the Ghana Police Service—Bohyen Command. Additionally, many local residents participated in the event.

 

In her address, the Municipal Chief Executive expressed gratitude to Nananom for providing farmers with the necessary land. She emphasized that even with climate change, our farmers adapt and continue farming. She stated that with the commission of the drip machine, she will ensure that the roads leading to the local villages in the municipality will be constructed to facilitate the smooth transportation of farm crops and vegetables to markets.


Nananom expressed their gratitude for hosting the event in their community and also asked the Municipal Chief Executive to help with the infrastructure of the school building in the community.
Farmers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the government and all stakeholders for the success of the event and prayed the government continue to prioritize farming in the country to boost the economy.
