DCE DISBURSED ITEMS WORTH THOUSANDS OF CEDIS TO PWDs

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, has honoured persons with disabilities (PWD) with items worth thousands of Ghana cedis in the district.

Items included, two (2) chest freezer, fufu pounding machine, hair drying machine, industrial machine, Parazone, and cash to beneficiaries.

The event took effect on Tuesday, 23rd July, 2024 at the forecourt of the District Assembly, with the Able DCE, Hon. Rebecca Yeboah, Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency Chairman, Hon. Alhaji Abdul-Salam Issah, Hon. Francis Bobie-Ansah, Presiding Member for Atwima Nwabiagya North District, Social Service Convenor, Hon. Osei Kwaku Michael, District Coordinating Director, Mr S.M Abdul Rahman, Head and Staff of Social Welfare and Community Development, District Information Officer, Mr Augustine Agyei, and beneficiaries were in attendence.

In her address, the DCE praised the government for making the disabled able and capable to depend on themselves. She admonished beneficiaries not to misuse or mishandle the items but to use for it’s intended purposes.

The beneficiaries speaking to the report expressed heartwarming gratitude to the government, the DCE, and all persons who have put smiles on their homes and families.

RESEARCH FINDS OBESITY AND QUARRY DUST ALARMING AGENT TO PEOPLE IN THE ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH.

The University of UTAH in the United States of America (USA) in long partnership with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Ghana Health Services has revealed obesity and quarries’ dust poses a health threat to the people and communities in the Atwima Nwabiagya North .
A research conducted in communities such as Barekese, Fufuo, Amakye-Bare, Marban, Abira, and other environs was disseminated on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024 at the Conference Hall of the District Assembly.
In the event were the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Emmanuel Tinkorang, Nana Amoampem Brenya I, Barekesehene and chairman of the event and entourage, Students of UTAH led by Prof. Dr. Scott Benson and Prof. Dr. Ty Dickerson, researchers from the KNUST led by Prof. Daniel Ansong – School of Medical Science KNUST, District Health Director, Mr Eric Sarpong, District Coordinating Director, Mr S.M Abdul Rahman, District Information Officer, Mr Augustine Agyei who was the programmes coordinator, Issaka Amadu Ramadan III, Barekese Zongo Chief, Religious leaders, health professionals, the media and staff sat for the dissemination of such briefing.
