RESEARCH FINDS OBESITY AND QUARRY DUST ALARMING AGENT TO PEOPLE IN THE ATWIMA NWABIAGYA NORTH.

The University of UTAH in the United States of America (USA) in long partnership with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Ghana Health Services has revealed obesity and quarries’ dust poses a health threat to the people and communities in the Atwima Nwabiagya North .
A research conducted in communities such as Barekese, Fufuo, Amakye-Bare, Marban, Abira, and other environs was disseminated on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024 at the Conference Hall of the District Assembly.
In the event were the Regional Director of Health Services, Dr. Emmanuel Tinkorang, Nana Amoampem Brenya I, Barekesehene and chairman of the event and entourage, Students of UTAH led by Prof. Dr. Scott Benson and Prof. Dr. Ty Dickerson, researchers from the KNUST led by Prof. Daniel Ansong – School of Medical Science KNUST, District Health Director, Mr Eric Sarpong, District Coordinating Director, Mr S.M Abdul Rahman, District Information Officer, Mr Augustine Agyei who was the programmes coordinator, Issaka Amadu Ramadan III, Barekese Zongo Chief, Religious leaders, health professionals, the media and staff sat for the dissemination of such briefing.
